Sandra Muvdi, Founder, Director

Sandra Muvdi is the mother of Jessica June Eiler (cancer victim 2/96 to 10/03), Founder, Board Member and Volunteer of the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation. She is the CEO/CFO, and in charge of leading the fundraising programs and events. Previously she worked as a Middle School Math Teacher at Indian Ridge Middle School. Before that, she was an Assistant Vice President at Barclays Bank in the division of International Banking/Trade Financing. She received an MBA degree from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, and a B.A. degree in Economics from Rollins College. Sandra spent her formative years in Colombia having a bicultural/bilingual upbringing.

Patricia Arena, Ph.D, Director

Patricia Arena is a Board Member and Volunteer of the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation. She was trained at the University of Miami and wrote her masters and doctoral theses on cancer and coping in minority populations. Currently she is in the Division of Neuropsychology, Department of Neurology, at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. She specializes in acute and long term effects of medical conditions on psychological wellbeing and cognitive functioning. Dr. Arena is originally from Brazil and is especially interest in Latin America and bringing resources to other countries to build training and research programs in order to assist pediatric and adult cancer patients.

Misty Maaya, Director

As a Volunteer Board Member for the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, Misty Maaya concentrates on developing events and fundraising opportunities, as well as marketing and public relations for the non-profit. Since her arrival in Florida in 1988, Misty Maaya has gone from public relations specialist for the City of West Palm Beach to marketing manager of City Link Magazine, a one-person operation covering South Florida’s tri-county area. In 2004, Misty turned her focus to her own company, Exclusivity, Inc., specializing in event production and corporate sponsorships. Misty also serves on the board of Hollywood Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Public Theatre of South Florida, and the Center for Creative Education and is an active member of the Florida Festivals and Events Association.

Greg A. Anderson, Director

Greg A. Anderson is Board Member and Volunteer of the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation. Currently, Greg is the President of Timeless Life Care, an organization that focuses on housing and health care services for the senior community in South Florida. Previously, Greg Anderson worked as an advisor for real estate development and construction for an organization in the Middle East. He serves on the Board of Advisors and the Building and Grounds Committee at the Pine Crest Preparatory School, Fort Lauderdale, and has done so for over five years. Greg received a Bachelor Degree from Florida International University, College of Engineering, in Construction Management.

Patricia Minski, MS, Director

Patricia is a Board Member and Volunteer at the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation. She obtained her degrees in Pre School Education, Psychology and a Masters in Social Development in Colombia, where she was born and raised. In 1993, she and her family moved to Miami where she pursued a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She has worked as a therapist in Colombia with underprivileged children and here in Miami she has worked in creative expression programs for kids. She has served in the board of HIPY (Home instruction for pre school youngsters.) At present, she divides her time between her family and elaborating ceramic and glass mosaic murals for public places.

Diana Muvdi, General Project Manager

Diana’s primary responsibility in the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation is to make sure the donated funds reach underprivileged children with cancer. She is connected with clinics in various countries that provide cancer treatment for very poor children. Presently she is a full time Volunteer at Sanar, a non profit foundation helping underprivileged children with cancer in Barranquilla, Colombia. Diana has recently created a class that teaches mothers of cancer patients how to make jewelry, greeting cards and sewing, so that they can make extra money while caring for their sick child at home. She previously worked as a Bank Manager for 9 years, and owned a retail fabric and a home design store. Diana majored in Sociology at the University of Miami.
