Heriberto, a child who survives due to donations
Heriberto is a Sanar Hospital patient who originally complained of having stomach pain and had an abdominal mass. Dr. Barcenas, who takes care of all Sanar patients free of charge, diagnosed patient’s mass as being positive for a malign tumor. He had an operation on his abdomen to extract his tumor, and he developed an infection (Peritonitis) which led to a Colostomy. This child was diagnosed in April 2004 with Lymphoma Burkitt (Stage VI High Malignancy Level) affecting his Central Nervous System.

Heriberto’s near death experience. |
Heriberto did not have a good prognosis, but Dr. Barcenas found hope for him, and he now is miraculously doing better. Heriberto has had numerous chemotherapy treatments and has responded incredibly.
Dr. Barcenas’ words: “Let Heriberto’s miracle story be an example of our lives only belonging to God”.
Background: His father is unemployed and trying to find a job. He used to pump gasoline. His mother does not work. What a sweet boy. When asked what material wish he had, his first response was “ I want a doll for my 9 year old sister”. |
